Common garage door questions
Why won't my garage door open?
Common causes include a broken spring, opener or power problem, cable or track issue, lock, or obstruction. If the door is crooked or unusually heavy, stop operating it and arrange inspection.
Why won't my garage door close?
Safety sensors, an obstruction, opener settings, track resistance, or another mechanical problem can cause a garage door to stop or reverse while closing.
Can I use the opener with a broken spring?
It is not a good idea to keep cycling the opener against a door with a suspected broken spring. The opener is not designed to replace the door's counterbalance system.
What should I do if my garage door is off track?
Stop operating it. Forcing an off-track door can damage panels, cables, rollers, and tracks and can make the door unstable.
How much does garage door repair cost?
The quote depends on the actual failed component, compatible parts, door configuration, access, and whether there is secondary damage. Call for a job-specific quote.
