Safety sensors affect closing behavior
Many openers use photo-eye sensors near the bottom of the door opening. If the beam is blocked, a sensor is misaligned, wiring is damaged, or the system cannot verify the safety path, the opener may refuse to close normally.
Safe checks
- Remove objects from the doorway and sensor path.
- Wipe obvious dust from the lenses.
- Look for a sensor that has been bumped or twisted.
- Notice any indicator lights or blinking pattern.
