Common reasons a garage door will not close
Close-direction problems often involve the safety sensors, an obstruction, opener travel settings, track resistance, or a mechanical problem that causes reversal.
Checks you can make safely
- Remove objects from the doorway and sensor path.
- Look for dust on sensor lenses.
- Check whether a sensor has been bumped out of alignment.
- Notice whether the door reverses at the same point every time.
- Look for a crooked door, displaced roller, or bent track.
